Fishing policy
After years of campaigning by Greenpeace New Zealand, in 2013 Sealord finally committed to phasing out the use of FAD-caught tuna by early 2014.
End of Whale Boycott
In April 2006 seafood suppliers Gorton's, Sealord and their parent company Nissui announced their withdrawal of active support for Japanese whaling after a consumer Boycott campaign by Greenpeace. This involved Nissui - a one-third shareholder in 'Kyodo Senpaku' the company that runs the whaling fleet - selling off its shares.
