Workers rights in China
A 2023 report by China Labor Watch investigated labour conditions in China's consumer electronics sector using three stages of research: analysis of social media posts, case studies through online research, and in-person factory investigation. Labour abuses in factories supplying this company were identified in multiple social media posts. Labour abuses include excessive working hours, illegal use of student interns, wage theft and wage arrear, poor food and/or living conditions, high labour intensity, and mandatory overtime.

Privacy breach accusation
An Illinois Class Action claimed that this company wilfully collected and recorded the details of music and audio files consumers listen to on the Collect app and then transmitted this information, with customers' personal details, to third-parties including data miners. This company does not disclose this to consumers. A US District Court Judge refused on 1 April 2019 to drop the claim by the Class Action that this company allegedly breached Illinois' Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act.
