Founded by Steve Huffman and Alex Ohanian in 2005, reddit is an online community where users submit, vote and comment on content, news and discussions. It is nicknamed 'the front page of the internet' and is the 7th most popular site in the USA. Acquired by Conde Nast Publications in 2006, it became a direct subsidiary of its parent company, Advance Publications in 2011. It has operated as an independent entity since 2012 but Advance Publications remains its largest shareholder. Became a public company in March 2024.
