Jim Beam has been criticised for trivialising criminal issues such as stalking. In 2008 Ad Standards upheld complaints with regards to a tv ad for Jim Beam Bourbon on the grounds it could be distressing and it breached advertising codes. The ad was subsequently taken off the air.
